We seek to integrate the range of services young people require in one long-term placement. We know that previously many have been unable to make use of services provided because these services lacked cohesion. We provide a service enabling young people to experience safety, express unresolved feelings, and participate in a process of growth within the community. The multi-disciplinary staff team maintains an environment that is structured around group and individual therapeutic work.
We provide an innovative and fully integrated system of care utilising a range of conceptual models applied to child and adolescent treatment - Psychodynamic Theory; Child Development; Resilience Theory; Social Pedagogy, Relational and Behavioural approaches.
Community Meetings play a significant role in the programme for all young people since a positive experience of communal and group living is based upon mutual respect and co-operation. At these meetings staff and young people come together to discuss a variety of matters emerging from living and working together. Here young people are encouraged to explore issues emerging from both their early life experiences and their day to day interactions and work towards understanding and resolving these.
