The Lodge provides living accommodation for eight young people, including new residents and those in the early part of their placement with the aim of settling into Donyland without the immediate proximity of older young people. The Lodge provides a ‘corrective emotional experience' (Evans, J. Active Analytic Group Therapy for Adolescents. Jessica Kingsley Publishers, p.120) focused around primary care and patterns of attachment. Clear boundaries are established to engender safety and containment while the experience of group living encourages each young person to look carefully at their behaviour and the impact it has on other members of the community.
