If from the paperwork received it is felt that Donyland might be a suitable placement for the young person, the Social Worker or a representative of the Education or Health Authority will be invited to visit Donyland to discuss the young person and to view the facilities.
Where appropriate a visit to the child’s home or current placement would then be made to meet with the young person and significant others to assess the likely benefit of a placement at Donyland.
Finally, the young person and appropriate others would be invited to visit Donyland to meet children and staff. A decision would then be made as to the suitability of a placement from all points of view and a formal offer or otherwise would be issued to the referring agency.
